Law Practice Experience
Sharon Reuler is a real estate lawyer who focuses on the creation and operation of property owners associations (POAs) for planned developments and condominiums. In representing real estate developers, she prepares project documents, consumer disclosures, sales contracts, and other materials relating to the association aspects of a project. She also assists developer clients with association issues that arise during the clients' control period, and with transitioning control of the association to the owners.

Prior to representing developers exclusively, Sharon represented established property owners associations. Fifteen years of experience with over 200 owner controlled associations and the enforcement and interpretation of project documents uniquely qualifies Sharon for creating new developments with mandatory owners associations.

Licensed as a Texas attorney in 1987, Sharon formed the professional corporation of Sharon Reuler, P.C., in 1990. Sharon affiliated her practice as Sharon Reuler, P.C., with the law firms of SettlePou (2002-2008), and with Palmer, Allen & McTaggart (1997-2002). Sharon returned to a solo practice in May 2008 to better maintain the focus of her practice in the face of a temporary slow-down in real estate development.

Legislative Experience
Sharon has been working as a volunteer on Uniform Act legislation in Texas since 1980. On behalf of the Texas College of Real Estate Attorneys, Sharon was the 2003-2007 spokesperson for the proposed Texas Uniform Planned Community Act. During the 1991 and 1993 legislative sessions, Sharon was the spokesperson for the Texas Uniform Condominium Act (TUCA), which became effective January 1, 1994, as Chapter 82 of the Texas Property Code. During the 1987 legislative session, while in law school, she worked as legislative aide to Representative Gwyn Clarkston Shea of Irving.

Other Real Estate Experience
Sharon's mid life career change to real estate law was facilitated by years of practical experience with residential real estate in Dallas, including development, construction, brokerage, and leasing. During the 1960s and 1970s she worked in Dallas in her family's homebuilding business, in the construction trades, and as an apartment locator. In the 1980s, she authored "Candid Condo," a weekly column in the Dallas Times Herald.

Personal
A Dallasite since 1952, Sharon has three degrees from The University of Texas, including her 1987 J.D. She has owned and occupied homes in condominiums and townhome developments since 1977.
